Information, Referral and Assistance Services
Area Agencies on Aging provide a wealth of information on the full array of programs and services available to adults age 60 and older and their family caregivers.
When Vermonters dial the toll-free Senior HelpLine (1-800-642-5119 (V/TTY)) , they are automatically connected to their local Area Agencies on Aging and an Information, Referral and Assistance specialist. These specialists provide accurate and useful information using extensive regularly updated databases. Information requests sometimes lead to a home visit from a case manager who can provide highly specific information based on an assessment of the individual's needs and circumstances.
