Each year DDAS produces an Annual Report on the status of supports and services for people with developmental disabilities. In addition to information on supports and services, the report presents updates on the pressures that exist on community services, goals accomplished, funding information, and future directions. It is an excellent source of information on the Developmental Services system.

  This report highlights the most notable findings from satisfaction surveys sent to families of adults with developmental disabilities who live at home.

  This national report provides a multi-state comparison of the results of the consumer survey interviews of adults receiving developmental disability services. This report reflect data from Vermont's consumer survey interviews from the summer of 2005.
• Children's Personal Care Services Program Status Report (June 2005)
  This report provides a brief overview of Children's Personal Care Services; results from the August 2004 survey of all families receiving Children's Personal Care Services; and a description of what works well, where there are challenges, and what’s being planned for the future.

• Regulations Implementing the Developmental Disabilities Act of 1996: July 2007
  A copy of the actual regulations implementing the Developmental Disabilities Act of 1996. They include definition of developmental disability, criteria for being a "recipient"; certification; application, assessment and notification; periodic review; recipients who are able to pay; special care procedures; complaint procedures and training.

• The Developmental Disabilities Act of 1996 Amended Booklet
  The Vermont Legislature enacted a new law about services for people with developmental disabilities during its 1996 session. The law went into effect July 1, 1996. This booklet summarizes the key points; a copy of the complete statute is available online from the legislative website.

  A short booklet developed by the Vermont Communication Task Force that provides basic information on Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).

• A Guide to Medicaid Funding for Communication Evaluations and Devices (Spring 2003) (Updated May 2008)
  A funding guide to help people who are eligible follow the Medicaid process to obtain a communication evaluation and a communication device/system.

• Making Communication Happen - Tools to Help Teams Plan and Provide Communication Supports (Spring 2003) (Updated May 2008)
  A booklet developed by the Vermont Communication Task Force that provides three annotated tools to help a person and his or her team to plan and provide communication supports.

  This document is intended to serve as the Commissioners’ response to the requirements set forth in ACT 192.  This report is specific to graduates who are determined eligible for DAIL services based on a two step determination process.

• Respite Home
  The Division of Disability and Aging Services funds four respite homes around the state to provide planned out-of-home respite support to eligible individuals who live with their family. This brochure gives helpful information on the Vermont Statewide Respite Homes.

  An Interagency white paper to answer critical questions about Autism in Vermont.

• A Guide to the Responsibilities of Guardians of Adults with Mental Disabilities, Office of Public Guardianship, Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living (December 2006)
  This booklet was prepared by the Office of Public Guardian to help private guardians and people considering becoming guardians to understand the role and responsibilities of guardianship.

  This 270 page manual was written and reviewed by individuals with extensive practical experience, including therapists, attorneys, program managers, Corrections staff, and Division of Disability and Aging Services staff.

• Children's Personal Care Services - Legislative Program Update (February 7, 2005)
  Under the Medicaid State Plan, Children's Personal Care Services (CPCS) is available to Medicaid eligible children (under the age of 21) who need significant assistance with activities of daily living due to physical or mental disability.

• Closing the Doors of the Institution; Opening the Hearts of Our Communities: Brandon Training School 1915 - 1993
  The Brandon Training School closing ceremony took place in November, 1993 to celebrate the closing of the school after 78 years of operation. This report summarizes the final three year process to close the institution. It provides a brief history and a description of the unification plan, the community placement process, and ingredients that made it a successful process.
